<p>There's been a spate of really cool and interesting development tools to build web applications that have popped up over the past two years.</p> <p>Things that I've been playing with, in no particular order:</p> <p></p> <ul><li>Google App Engine (GAE)</li><li>Google Web Toolkit (GWT)</li><li>Android SDK</li><li>iPhone SDK</li><li>Air/Flex3</li><li>Amazon S3/EC2</li></ul> <div>Grokking all of this into a coherent whole is part of the fun.  As a quick and dirty exercise, I wrote a GWT QuickTime component and marveled at how much it worked cross-browser. Here's a <a href="http://caachi.dyndns.org/~cchoi/CiGwtTestbench/CiGwtTestbench.html">link to it</a> (warning this link is fragile since it's a prototype) with some additional components added to it.</div> <p /><div>When I get more up to speed with GWT conventions I'm thinking of open sourcing the GWT QuickTime component. </div>
