Twitter + Geotagging + Aquí
11 Dec 2009 Charles Choi
When sending your message to Twitter from Aquí, your location is sent in two ways:
- By embedding a bit.ly shortened link to Google Maps in the message, and
- Using the Twitter Geotagging API
The Geotagging API only works if you set Enable Geotagging in your Twitter website account settings. Because the Twitter Geotagging API stores your location as metadata, it can replace the older method of sharing your location using a shortened link. That said, not all Twitter clients support the Geotagging API, so for now Aquí will still use the above two ways to send your location.
In a future release, Aquí will make it an option to embed the shortened link, letting you decide whether to send both or just use the Geotagging API.
